VA ECHCS Announces Holiday Staffing Changes and Clinic Closures for Dec 2025

Description: VA ECHCS shares holiday staffing updates following a presidential executive order, including clinic closures and continued patient care on Dec. 24 and 26, 2025...
Excusing VA ECHCS Employees from Duty for the Scheduled Workday on December 24 and 26
Dear VA ECHCS Veteran,
With the announcement of the executive order signed by President Donald Trump on Dec. 18 excusing federal employees from duty on Christmas Eve, this Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 26, except for those who, in the judgment of the head of their respective agencies, cannot be excused for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need, VA ECHCS has identified which areas are appropriate for reduced staffing on those dates.
Clinical and ancillary areas that have scheduled appointments and are providing direct patient care will remain open on those days, consistent with national guidance.
The following locations are closed because there will be no patient appointments on site:
Burlington VA Clinic – closed Dec. 24 & 26
Lamar VA Clinic – closed Dec. 24 & 26
La Junta VA Clinic – closed Dec. 24 & 26
Salida VA Clinic – closed Dec. 24 & 26
All other VA ECHCS locations will have some staff on site, the number of which has been determined by their supervisors, to fulfil minimum operational responsibilities according to national guidance during that time.
Thank you for everything you do and for trusting us with your care.
