Lamar Fire Responds to Smoke Report at Colorado Mills; No Fire Found

Description: Lamar Fire crews responded to Colorado Mills after smoke was reported Tuesday morning. Workers had already addressed the issue, and no fire department action was required.
Lamar Fire Responds to Smoke Report at Colorado Mills
Tuesday morning at approximately 6:45 a.m., Lamar Fire responded to Colorado Mills for a report of smoke coming from the facility.
Quint 1, Engine 6, and Med 1 were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, Quint 1 reported smoke showing from the area of a cyclone. Engine 6 staged at the fire hydrant located at Hickory Street and 1st Street, while Med 1 arrived and established command.
Crews made contact with Colorado Mills employees, who advised they were aware of the issue and had already begun addressing the problem. Truck 1 responded non-emergent and, along with Med 1, was placed on first-out status for any additional calls.
Fire crews remained on standby while Colorado Mills staff mitigated the source of the smoke. No further action was required, and all units cleared the scene.
