Obituary
A celebration of Pat’s life is planned for later this year. In the meantime, please share with his family your memories of Pat by sending an email to mrpatpalmer@protonmail.com.
George Patterson Palmer, affectionately known by his friends and family as ‘Pat’ was born on September 28, 1939 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to George W. and Elizabeth (Kunkle) Palmer and passed away at his home in Lamar, Colorado on May 12, 2026 with his daughters by his side following a brief illness.
He is predeceased by his parents, his parents-in-law Ralph and Dorothy Clark, wife Nancy Ruth Palmer, and brother Peter H. Palmer.
He is survived by his “dear” Barbara McGee, daughters Keri Palmer and Kristin (Robert) Musser, grandsons Georic (Miranda) Musser and Ryan Musser, sisters-in-law Floy Williams and Sue (Ken) Sniff, brother-in-law Glen (Fran) Clark, nephews Russell (Jill) Clark, Grant (Ellen) Clark, Eric (Lisette) Clark, Doug (Chris) Clark, Peter D. (Rachel) Palmer, Scott Sniff, Craig (Kim) Sniff, Mark (Stacie) Sniff, Tim (Michelle) Williams, Kyle (Julie) Williams, and niece Lisa (Regi) Solon. Also left to miss him are his miniature horse Stormy (currently living his best life with “framily” Sally and Mel DePra) and his always overdressed tuxedo cat Mister Boots. Numerous additional family members and, because he never knew a stranger, a small army of friends are left to mourn his passing.
His family wishes to extend special thanks to Jimmy Marquez, Debbie Stegman, his wonderful neighbors in the Carlton community, the caring staff at the Lamar VA Clinic, the Prowers Medical Center Physical Therapy Department and the Lamar Area Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, please plant something green, perform a random act of kindness, donate blood, or volunteer your time and talent within your community. If you’re aligned with a monetary donation in Pat’s memory, please consider the Blue Rose Ranch or Southeast Colorado Cancer Initiative. This may be done directly or in care of the funeral home office.
Heaven is a bit more colorful now.
Peacock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
