Rocky Ford Fire Dept. Assists at Sharpe Fire and multiple mutual aid calls
Description: Rocky Ford Fire Department crews responded to a fast-moving grass and brush fire near Campo, a double chicken coop fire west of Manzanola, and a rekindled controlled burn amid heavy winds.
Currently we have crews helping in Campo, CO for a fast moving grass/brush fire.
We have crews that assisted on approximately CR 7 and CR KK west of Manzanola, CO for a double chicken coop fire in heavy winds. We also have a crew in the area of CR 13.5 and CR HH suppressing a rekindle controlled burn in high winds.
In addition to all these fire calls, we have struggled to cover ambulance calls. So far we are able to just barely meet response needs.
