Obituary
A Mass of Christian burial for lifelong Granada, Colorado resident, Juanita Ortiz, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly, Colorado with Reverend Boniface Onjefu as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly with Felisa Andrade reciting. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada.
Visitation for Juanita will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Juanita was born on February 8, 1935 at the Koehn Ranch in Granada, Colorado to John and Felisa (Guerrero) Granados and passed away on July 1, 2026 at her home in Granada, Colorado with her family by her side at the age of 91.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son John R. Andrade, great-grandson Ricco Camacho and siblings, Frances “Kika” Hudson, Richard Granados, Freddie Granados, Frank Granados and Manuel “Wedas” Granados.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Felipe Ortiz of the family home in Granada, children Billie Jean Andrade of Granby, CO, Ron Andrade, Judi Andrade and Jacqui Andrade all of Granada, CO, Cory (Elizabeth) Jara of Windsor, CO, Kyle Jara of Granada, CO, Ronald (Megan) Jara of Pueblo, CO, Jennifer Jara of Denver, CO, Felisa Andrade of Granada, CO and Reymundo (Erica) Camacho of Odessa, TX, grandchildren Monica, Joey, Angel, Ray, Vincent, Shenael and Christina as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Monico (Nancy) Granados of Lamar, CO, Martin (Belle) Granados of Lancaster, PA, Becky Baca of Wichita, KS, Mary (Tom) Sandoval of Garden Plains, KS, Gloria Granados of Garden Plains, KS, Terry Granados of Lamar, CO and Margie (Joseangel) Carrasco of Presidio, TX as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southeast Colorado Cancer Initiative either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
