Information Staffing Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Current Situation: As fire activity decreases, fire managers are adjusting staffing levels to meet current operational needs and make resources available to other incidents. However, in response to forecasted weather conditions early this week, Rocky Mountain CIMT1 will support local resources with initial attack capability for any new fire starts, as requested.
Aviation resources equipped with infrared (IR) sensors are used to identify isolated hot spots and potential threats to the fireline. IR information helps incident personnel determine where to concentrate resources. With the aid of IR data, firefighters are conducting mop up and cold trailing operations to secure lines and eliminate any heat sources that could escape the containment lines.

In Division A, firefighters have observed very little growth in the uncontained portion along Jones Canyon but continue to mop up and secure accessible portions of the fire’s edge. Crews continue to improve a road west of the fire, establishing a contingency line to prevent any westward fire spread.

Weather and Fire Behavior:
As a result of the hot, dry conditions, a Fuels and Fire Behavior Advisory has been issued for the western slopes of Colorado. Dry lightning is possible today and Wednesday as more moisture moves into the area.
